A community manager is not only responsible for creating content, but for staying in tune to the audience, even without a direct mention. I constantly check Twitter using keywords to ensure I’m aware of what the audience is saying. It is also important to maintain a strong connection to alumni, especially when they praise the institution’s social media presence. With a simple response to a post, alumni will continue to feel connected to their institution on a new level.
