I’m Back in College…

Wow, hello again friends. Sorry it’s been so long.

As I’ve undoubtedly explained in previous posts, my life is pretty scheduled. Work, gym, sleep, weekend, repeat. It’s a little strange, but I’ve been finding ways to break it up, including heading out to more events through meetups.com, meeting new people, or finding my own fun things to do (like watching Breaking Bad on Netflix ALL THE TIME OH MY GOODNESS THAT SHOW.)

Lately, though, I’ve felt like I’m back in college with all the running around I’ve been doing. Work feels like classes, where I occasionally daydream or peruse Pinterest, and my calendar is starting to fill up just like it used to back in undergrad. If someone says “hey, let’s hang out sometime!” I picture all the little time blocks in my head and try to squeeze them in.

The worst part about it, though, is I’m back to having homework. Even though I really shouldn’t be complaining, I’m going to…but only for a little bit. Ready? I’ve (my own fault) needed to prepare for multiple big presentations that are all happening within two weeks of each other, and it’s STRESSFUL. What? Stress? I’m not supposed to feel that anymore, right? That was a senior year “I’m not going to get a job and I’m going to live in a cardboard box the rest of my life” thing. Argh!

Done complaining, now on to being super grateful. Although I’ve spent my nights doing what I used to in undergrad – staying up late to get work done, I’m really happy looking on all my accomplishments. Sure, I’ve done little chats here and there for classes and things, but it’s nice to know that I’m valued, I guess. Granted, I’m in the “OOOH SHINY! SOCIAL MEDIA TEACH ME” department, so all of this comes with the territory, but I love to do it, which is all I really need.
