Pay for the Information

I, like many Americans, am incredibly ignorant to the world around me. Unlike many Americans, I will admit my ignorance. Now, I’m trying to do something about it.

It’s a new month which means a new “healthy thing” for my mind or body. With school just starting up for a lot of people, I went with the education theme and chose to read or watch the news at least once a day.

With the incredible amount of technology in this world, I know it won’t be challenging for me to get my hands on at least one news article or important interview a day, which lead me to start scouring the Apple App Store for a quality source of updates. Granted, I could follow news stations and publications on Twitter, but I need something a little more reliable.

I found the New York Times App for free and downloaded it, which immediately yelled at me to SUBSCRIBE NOW TO GET ALL THIS REALLY COOL STUFF* AND IT’LL BE GREAT! WE’LL GIVE YOU THE FIRST WEEK TO TEST RUN IT BUT YOU’RE GOING TO WANT TO SUBSCRIBE LATER BECAUSE THEN WE’RE GOING TO TAKE ALL THIS STUFF* AWAY! I chose to use up my free week first.

So far, it has been pretty simple for me to read the news at least once a day with the app, but I’m not sure if it’s worth $20 a month. I generally grab my iPad when I wake up in the morning and read a few articles. It feels good to be a little more educated about what’s going on in the world.
